How to read a certificate of analysis
A certificate names the product and the lot it belongs to, and the lot number on it is the number printed on the vial. Check those two first: a certificate for another lot says nothing about the vial in your hand.
The test date is when the laboratory ran the sample, not when the material was made. The testing laboratory is named on the certificate; ours is named on the product page beside the certificate link.
HPLC purity is the percentage of the sample that is the named compound, measured by high performance liquid chromatography against a reference. Mass spectrometry identity confirms the molecular weight of what was measured matches the compound claimed.

Glossary
HPLC. High performance liquid chromatography, the separation method used to measure purity.
MS. Mass spectrometry, used to confirm identity by molecular weight.
CAS number. The Chemical Abstracts Service registry number, a unique identifier for a substance.
Lot. One production run of one material, tested and documented as a unit.
Lyophilized. Freeze dried to a powder for stability in transit and storage.

Identity data on this catalog
Every product page lists the CAS number, molecular formula and molecular weight for the material it sells, and links the certificate for the lot in stock. Those four things are what a purchaser can check independently, which is why they are on the page rather than in a document behind a form.
